Abbott Launches Amplatzer Steerable Delivery Sheath for Amulet Device to Treat Atrial Fibrillation

- The company reported the commercial availability of Amplatzer steerable delivery sheath to provide precise & flexible placement when used with Amplatzer Amulet LAA Occluder. The device will use dual-seal technology to seal LAA & reduce the risk of stroke & eliminates the need for blood-thinning medication
- The Amplatzer steerable delivery sheath has bi-directional steering & auto-lock feature to provide better flexibility & accurate positioning when placing Amplatzer Amulet
- The Amulet IDE trial showed that the device offers superior LAA closure @45 days & 12mos. The Amplatzer Amulet device received CE Mark in 2013 & was approved for use in 80+ countries
