J&J to Supply EU with up to 400M Doses of its COVID-19 Vaccine
Shots:
- EC has approved an advance purchase agreement in which the Janssen will supply 200 M doses of the COVID-19 vaccine candidate to EU member states following approval from regulators. Additionally- the EU member states have an option to secure up to 200M additional doses
- The agreement follows the conclusion of exploratory talks with the EC. Apart from the agreement- J&J plans to allocate up to 500M vaccine doses toward international efforts for ensuring access in lower income countries- with delivery beginning in mid-2021- following approval
- J&J is evaluating a single dose regimen in P-III ENSEMBLE study initiated in Sept’2020 and plans the initiation of P-III study with a two-dose regimen later this year
