Merck Animal Health Reports the EMA’s Approval of an Expanded Indication for SC Administration of Bovilis Rotavec Corona

Shots:

  • The EMA has approved Bovilis Rotavec Corona SC injection for pregnant cows & heifers to boost Abs against E. coli adhesins F5 (K99), F41, rotavirus & coronavirus. It can also be given intramuscularly & alongside Bovilis Cryptium
  • Vaccine's safety & efficacy data showed extended concomitant protection against Cryptosporidium parvum in calves when given on the same day & through the same route as Bovilis Cryptium (but not mixed). SC injections were safe & tolerable, reducing pain & enhancing meat quality
  • The vaccine is administered to pregnant cows for passive protection of calves from diarrhea caused by these viruses. Dam will produce colostrum to provide further added protection post vaccination via both Bovilis drugs
