Abbott Reports Real-World Study Results for its Healthy Food Rx Program as a Treatment for Diabetes
Shots:
- The real-world study conducted by the Public Health Institute's Center for Wellness and Nutrition (PHI CWN) evaluates the Healthy Food Rx participants in active community clinics for a duration of over 12mos.
- The results from the study demonstrated decreased A1C levels by 0.80% in patients with uncontrolled diabetes, improved diabetes self-management with 88% of patients following a meal plan & 78% with more physical activity. Moreover, improved diet quality and food security (44%) among patients were also depicted
- Healthy Food Rx is a food as medicine program initiated by Abbott that provides home-delivered medical prescriptions of healthy food to address the treatment needs of patients with diabetes
