Shots:

• The EU Commission adopts a new approach to cancer screening & strengthening prevention through early detection in the EU as a flagship initiative of Europe's Beating Cancer Plan
• The previous recommendation includes screening recommendations for breast, cervical and colorectal cancer while the newly approved recommendation incl. lung, prostate, and gastric cancer
• The funding support made available for cancer screening i.e., $40.59M for projects under the EU4Health Programme, $63.27 under Horizon Europe along with an additional $40.61M under the 2023 EU4Health work program. The support can also be provided by the EU regional, cohesion, and social funds
