Pfizer and BioNTech to Supply 200M Doses of it COVID-19 Vaccine in the EU

Shots:

  • Pfizer and BioNTech has concluded exploratory talks with the EC for a proposed supply of 200M doses of BNT162 mRNA-based vaccine candidate against COVID-19 to EU- with an option for further 100M doses- expected delivery to be started by the end of 2020
  • The proposed agreement with the EC represents the largest initial order of vaccine doses for Pfizer and BioNTech to date. The vaccine supply for the EU would be produced by BioNTech’s manufacturing sites in Germany and Pfizer’s manufacturing site in Belgium
  • The companies expect a regulatory review for BNT162b2 as early as Oct’2020 and- if approved- plan to supply up to 100M doses globally by the end of 2020 and ~1.3B doses by the end of 2021
