Google Developed AI System for Easy Detection of Last Stage Breast Cancer with 99% Accuracy

  • The Google AI i.e Lymph Node Assistant (LYNA) was tested to recognize the characteristics of tumors by studying scans from cancer patients in two datasets respectively
  • In the trial LYNA proved to be efficacious by detecting cancer scans in half the time and with better accuracy, pinpoint the location of cancers, reducing the rate of missed micrometastases by a factor of two
  • LYNA is based on Inception-v3 (image recognition deep learning model) taking 299-pixel image input for outlining tumor at pixel level, adjusts the model’s algorithmic weights to reduce error and predict tissue patches
